FAQ
Mandarin or Cantonese?+
Mandarin (普通话) only in v1. Cantonese has different ASR characteristics and a separate translation register, so it's tracked as a v2 target rather than silently downgraded into the Mandarin path.
Simplified or Traditional output?+
Source SRTs are written in Simplified Chinese (简体). If you need Traditional, run the SRT through any Simplified-to-Traditional converter — they're lossless conversions of the same characters.
Does it handle Taiwanese-accented Mandarin?+
Yes. Qwen3-ASR is trained on a wide spread of mainland and Taiwanese accents and handles both without a hint. The translation prompt is dialect-agnostic.
What about videos with English code-switching?+
Mixed Mandarin/English speech transcribes fine — Qwen3-ASR handles code-switching natively. The English fragments stay verbatim in the source SRT and pass through translation untouched.
